1990/91 310 Sundancer vs 1992+ 330 Sundancer

Where did you get the boat, I looked at 92 330 that was missing the cook top, don't remember if it had a ice maker or not and it had black cockpit cover. I missed out on the boat by a day or 2 the owner sold it even after I made an offer to the broker. It was in Brick. That would be funny if it was the same boat. LOL. Have a great Thanksgiving.
lol, I think it is the same boat (brick). I looked at it last year before it was listed. The starboard engine needed replacement, so I let it sit. He did a new long block on the starboard, upper rebuild on the port, both got new manifolds and risers, new dripless seals, new props, 2 new fridges, new black mooring cover and bimini, and a bunch of other fixes, So I came back into the deal at a low price and got it.

I gotta do some gel repairs, rub rail redo, leaks fixed, some upholstery, a cabin upgrade, and a bunch of maintenace.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours ;)

The previous owner of mine switched out the icemaker for a fridge under the bar, ill just use a portable ice maker. My water heater is shot too, gotta change that, plus he removed the cooktop in the galley, the admiral wants one so.......

The boat is in good shape, but ill be doing extensive renovations and upgrades. Ill be starting a restoration thread over there soon. May mirror some of it here.

We can help each other im sure since our boats are basically the same.
Hey, for both of you, i replaced my water heater this spring, fredwarner.net, nobody could beat the price. Came quick, cant recall if shipping was free, check it out, pic attached.

Thanks Pirate, the Kuuma 11811 was the one I was looking for....thats probably the lowest with free shipping,

They go in and out of stock frequently. Buy now if they have in stock then install in spring. Last winter in stock changed every couple day. Guessing at that price they sell a lot.

Couldn’t figure out why always had water in bilge first year with boat. When we pulled the heater i found out. The bottom of tank was mostly gone, flakes of rust. After replacing, no more water in bilge.

Lol, Zool you bought the boat we bid on. Did you move it from green cove marina? She was a really good deal. I had looked at it already and my wife and I were on our to have her look it over when the broker called an said don't leave the owner accepted another offer. Glad she went to a good home. We got ours for a good price too.

Thanks for the link pirate, I was looking at that one also. But, the hotwater heater on our now sold 250 was gone when we got her. Lived without it for 5 seasons. Our marina has a bathroom with shower so hot water is not really on the priority list. Was thinking about trying one of the under counter instant units for rinsing dishes and washing hands. Just plumb in line on the hot side and plug in when needed. Any reason it would not work?

Previous owner said they could not get the ac to work that's a much higher priority for those hot summer nights at the dock. We shall see.

Haven't had a chance to get back to the boat as I had to clean up 1.5 acres of leaves before Thanksgiving, plus it's been a bit chilly.

Have a great night.

Green Cove, Yup....I had them winterize the engines, I did the rest. I just hooked up shore power, now I can go thru it all and see what needs attention.

Watch the power draw on those point of use elec hw heaters....most may go over whats available.

No real updates, other than I received the spanner tool to clean out the strainers. It's been kinda cold here in NJ so it been more about Thanksgiving and holiday cheer than boats. I did get over to the boat last week just to do some looking around, making mental list of must do and want to items.
My OCD requires thing to work and look their best. One of the items on the list is the compass which is not a must do, but iIt has lost all its oil. I had done a rebuld on the one on the 250 dancer so I figure I will do this one too. It will look so cool when finished.
Another item on my short list is to replace the JVC/CD changer, with a Bluetooth Sony unit I had in the other boat. Of course somebody installed auto speakers in the cockpit and the cardboard cones are non existent. I am hoping that is why there is no sound coming from them. LOL. Since she does not have a TV yet, the radio is our entertainment so this is a priority. I will keep updating here as my projects move forward.

Zool, do you have a thread for yours.

Have a great night

I was gonna start one over there Mike, but Im figuring I will get better specific knowledge here for help. I got a call today from High Bar Harbor YC that they secured me a slip for next season, so thats good news......the bad news is now i have to finish the boat by April. Gonna start work this week on it.

As for tv location, Im thinking the wall above the aft cabin entrance, where you access the rear of the gauge panels. Looks one could get a decent size screen up there.

Can an EC squeeze in here, not too many advantages to an EC over a Dancer, but a larger TV is one of them
this is a 1990 that I have gutted and in the process of refurbishing

Yeah, thats the spot on the EC, theres less vertical wall with the mid cabin, but enough for a decent screen.

This pic doesnt show all the space but basically it covers the mirror panel.

All are welcome here, I had looked an EC before making an offer on the Dancer, my wife wanted the aft cabin?? One of the brokers I met with told me the advantage of the EC was the placement of the straight drive made it easier to work on. They both look terrible work on. There was tons of room to work on the single 7.4L in the 250 Dancer.

My starboard engine needs a raw water pump impeller, you can't even see it. Port engine was done this past July by the previous owners marina. Both engines need at least the exhaust elbows, not sure if the manifolds are still OK. The 7.4L in my 250 was raw cooled so the manifolds/risers and elbows were rotted, how do the manifolds hold up on full closed cooling engines. It would be great to replace only the elbows. All though with the manifolds off it would be much easier to get at the raw pump. Been having nightmares about the engine compartment since I first looked at the boat. The exhaust pipes totally in the way of everything. I can barely reach the strainers for the engines see post 11 its the green circle thingy. BTW the tool to remove the stainer top came yesterday.

Rod, do you have a thread on your interior upgrade would love to see more photos of what you have done. I am always looking for ideas on upgrades. I have seen Zool's work on another site so I know we are in good company. Where are you located? Im going to need all the help and advice I can get learning and mai

I have seen pics of others both EC and Dancer with what looks like a 50" tv there. We do not have TV service or free wifi at our Marina so we are going to rely on casting from our phones to probably a small TV main v-berth. My wife and I watch so little TV that we did not even have one on our 250 Dancer. I tell people that we pay a lot of money for TV service and we watch MASH and Star Trek. LOL

Here is couple photos

You can see the crusty hot water heater that will be removed soon. Zool are your batteries here or under the hatch by the cabin door?

Have great night all

Mike

My boat is on Lake Charlevoix (northern Michigan) I live in southern Michigan So it's in winter storage
I purchased it in July of this year, so it's fairly new to me. I will work on getting some pics put together of what I'm doing
so far I have gutted the cabin, faux wood floor replaced the carpet, carpeting around the table/sofa is removed and the bulkhead between cabin and cockpit has been re worked. I also added a step to the entry, my wife hated how steep they were. I have 7.4's on Bravo 1 outdrives

I had a 7.4L Bravo 1 in my 250, it is a great combination but I refused to by a boat with 2 outdrives. Last year we looked a EC with B1 drives and decided to not pull the trigger on because of the drives.

I replace the floor in my 250 with vinyl plank flooring left over from my living room. It came out OK i just snuggled with how to finish the edges. The 310 dance has 2 access hatches in floor, I cant remember if the EC has them as well. If so how did you deal with them and finishing edges. We looked a boat least year that has the floor done but he left the edges and it looked really unfinished. Below is what I did on my 250 Dancer.
20210601_143620.jpeg

I have (1) floor hatch just outside of the head door, It's not quite finished and I don't have photos but
I covered the floor, trimmed to the opening with a router bit, covered my hatch doing the same
I have a 1/8 strip of stainless steel wrapping the edge of the hatch, plan is this will prevent the edges from
cracking since it sits up about 1/16 above the vinyl flooring

I made black laminate panels that cover a large portion of the vertical carpet at the setee
left a recess for LED lights behind it, photo below somewhat shows it

Nice work, I look forward to seeing more.

That looks good Rod, Nice contemporary look with the composite verticals.

Mike, my house batteries are with the switches by the companionway. Im sure the start batteries are in the bilge (port side). Mine was a generator boat (I assume cause my ac panel has the gen switches), but its not there. The no gen models have the batteries where the gen is (starboard).

I dont need a genset and without it, I have standing room by the starboard engine, which is prime real estate ;]

Not much boat sruff going on right now. Just WORK that awful 4 letter word. Have great holidays. I will update more when I have anything note worthy, she did get wrapped although no access door yet as requested.
