Hello,

How does one pressurize or bleed the steering on these older Sea Rays? I'm not familiar with the system. My other boats always had a hydraulic fluid tank near the rudders that you keep to 15-30lbs with air pump.

How do these systems operate?

Are you talking about a Seastar hydraulic system with the resevoir behind the steering wheel?

I wont see the boat for a few weeks so I have no idea of the manufacture of the system or location. So If you are in the know I'm sure you have the right system. Can you explain how it fills, pressures and how to maintain?

of all the documentation I got with the boat there was none for this.

Are you sure you have hydraulic steering? My 88 SDA has cable steering with hydraulic autopilot steering. The hydraulic pack is mounted on the transom. It contains a pump and an electric reversing valve. The autopilot turns on the pump when needed and
operates the reversing valve as needed. No bleeding needed. When the autopilot is off the pump does not operate.
