My first visit! I need to replace the inside side panels for my 1989 230cc searay that have rotted out due to age. I checked with searay to see if they still had any templates avaialble and they do not. Does anyone have any idea or suggestions where I could find them? If not then I guess the best is to remove and have them recreated. Thanks for the feedback!

I have also had to repair panels as well. I used marine grade plywood and reconstructed panels. The interior vinyl was in excellant shape and I was able to remove it and reinstall it on the new panels.

Thanks for the feedback. That's what i was planning to do. I unlike you have to redo the vinyl. Happy boating

I have that same boat. If you need pictures of the original panel just let me know.

stiga79,

Unfortunately this thread is over 4 years old and the OP is no longer active. We had the same issue with side panels on a previous boat. We had to fabricate the new ones by using what was left of the old ones as well as the old upholstery as templates. we got one side on the first try but it took a few "adjustments" to the plywood to get the other side to match the upholstery. We used standard plywood instead of marine plywood but we gave it a generous coating of polyester resin catalyzed for a slower cure. Did the edges twice. We re applied the upholstery with 3m super spray adhesive and then stapled the back sides. I guess we were lucky that the upholstery was still in usable shape. Also did one many years ago where we had to start from scratch. Made a rough template out of cardboard and cut the plywood a bit on the large side for starters. Trimmed it to size with a belt sander and jig saw. Good luck.
