1988 Sea Ray Sorrento 23 Seat Pedestal

Just bought a 1988 Sea Ray Sorrento 23. Has new wrap around seating with a drivers captain chair. The first time out, the chair tipped over backwards with me in it. Screws (some mis-matching in length) pulled right out of the flooring. Still love the boat, but I gotta fix this quick. What is my best approach? Should I reposition the base pedestal and get some longer heavy duty screws. Will that be enough? Is there a sub flooring system anchor that I should put in place underneath the pedestal to support and strengthen it. You guys that have put in a new drivers side bucket seat, let me know what worked.
