1988 Sea Ray Seville

Nice job on the Seville, I have a Seville also, Cruiser Mid Cabin that I'm doing some updating too... Guess we need a Seville thread on here...

Nice boat. It is good to work on your boat and get to know it. You did a fine job. Keep up the good work.

thanks for all the awesome comments. I was able to get up to PA and work on it some more the other weekend. I got a mildew remover and wow did it make a different. THe original side panels that I didnt reupholster had several large spots of mildew and i thought I wouldnt be able to get them out last summer whan i was working on it. But i founda mildew remover in walmart and it worked like a charm! The vinyl looks really good now. I just have to put a vinyl conditioner on it next time I'm up there.

I also was able to put a metallic silver pinstripe and it looks pretty good, but i think it needs another stripe under to really set it off. Ill take some pictures once its all done.

I found on ebay some neat speaker covers that have the Sea Ray logo on them. They are directly from a Sea Ray distributer and they are used on a lot of newer Sea Rays. I think that these covers will brighten up the inside and give it a fresh new look.

I think thats the only update I have right now. Ill be sure to post more pictures once everything is done and in the water! Hopefully not too much longer til i get it in the water. :smt001

Glad to hear that about the mildew. What was the name of the mildew remover. I have a good amout that I need to remove as well.

I am looking forward to the new pictures.

gosh i cant remember the name of the cleaner. But i got it in walmart back in the automotive section. Back by where they have RV stuff. and i believe on the bottle it said RV Mildew Remover. it worked really good.

next time im in PA ill take lots of pictures and be sure to post them.

Congrats! Be proud of what you have done. It does become a passion that is hard not to have. All of us at one time or another have taken on a project to improve what we have started with. My first boat was a 16' speed boat and I did a lot. Out of 5 boats, only one was brand new. All the other were diamonds in the rough. I just bought my next project boat last Nov and will be launching on the 21st of this month. Keep up the good work!

Hi there. I just purchased a 1988 Seville 21' cuddy and I'm in search of parts, accessories, etc. Any ideas where i could find for this boat? any ideas are greatly appreciated.

i would search around this forum, ebay, and craigslist for replacement parts. If you looking for more universal type things check out www.overtons.com they have a lot of great boat accessories.

Suprbean,
Great job on that boat. My first boat was a 1977 Galaxy 16' tri-hull and was a total piece of junk. I eventually graduated into nicer boats with the same hard work you are demonstrating here. Your ambition and motivation are great skills that will ensure your success in life. Keep working hard!

Girls rule - boys drool (thats what my kids tell me anyway)!

You impress me kid. Not too many like you out there. I admire your determination and drive. Like many already have said or hinted, you'll go far if you maintain your current aptitude and attitude.

When I was 14 I started putting back together my dad's 1954 Albrite. It had been t-boned and sunk by a bostonwhaler. The hull was repaired already and I was just bolting in the mechanicals and interior. Great sense of accomplishment. After a few years of running that boat we took all our money we made in 1980 on the tobacco crop and bought our 1976 SR195.

You should be very proud of what you have done with mostly your own initiative and time. I just feel sorry for your dad - he's going to have to beat all the boys off with a boat paddle!

Any updates or current pics of this boat? I just bought the same boat but with the 175hp 4.3L. I'd like to see how yours is coming along.
Travis..
