I saw an access plate in the floor in the aft berth. I opened it up and found it full of antifreeze from when they winterized the boat. I bailed out the antifreeze and found that the shower sump pump. I lifted the float switch and nothing kicked on, so I am assuming that it is not working. I could not find a manual switch any where to see if the float was shot. However, while I was trying to access the pump and wires, I noticed there are 4 screws that a bigger access panel could be seen. It seems that silicone was used to seal this in. From the way the wires and the hose goes through, it seems it might be better to lift the entire plate out to replace.

Has anyone done this before? Is that a better way to do it instead of trying to work through that little 6 inch access plate?

I have an 89 340 and it has a switch on the dash to turn that on. It should be next to the rear pump switch.
Try that if it comes on you have a bad flipper switch. Also on the right 12V panel take a 12V test light and see if all the fuses are good. If not there try the breakers in the engine compartment on the port side.

There are two switches on the dash. I thought both were for the two bilge pumps in the engine compartment. Each has a green and red light. One for manual and one for automatic operation. One the auto light is on, the other it is not. I bet you are right and maybe when they winterized the boat before I took ownership, they may have taken the fuse out. I will have to check more tomorrow. I really would hate to pull all that apart.

You have two switches for 2 of the 3 bilge pumps. The one marked forward bilge pump is for your shower sump. The aft pump is the one that sits in a shallow well all the way back at the transom between the prop pockets. The pump you can see between the engines and just aft of the engine room forward bulkhead is a high water pump and should work only by a float switch. There is no dash mounted switch for this pump....if the boat is still wired correctly.

The switch for that bilge pump is in the head. On mine it is marked "Shower". if you pull the float up and nothing working you have a problem. The shower drains into that cavity and pumps out, it does not go to the holding tank.

Either way, from the switch or the float it should turn on.

Great, Everyone here on this site is so helpful. That makes sense.Thought both of those switches were for the engine room. So I am really glad I did not start tearing everything apart. This also make sense why the green light next to the switch is not on. I will have to track it down today.

NorCal, I did get the transmission fluid out yesterday. I had to remove the pipe plug to get all the fluid out. As a double check, I pulled the top hose from the transmission to the cooler off, and ran the suction hose down to the bottom of the transmission to check.
