1988 270 Sundancer Adding AC

I installed a 9k unit in my 86 270 last year. don't know if that might help.

tab283,
Many years ago, I put a 10K AC/HT unit in a 270 Sundancer and made one large wood plenum box that I attached to the vertical bulkhead seperating the v-berth and the living space.

I can't remember the dimensions but I talked to an AC guy to make sure it would flow enough air to do the job. I put the plenum as close as I could to the side of the boat on the bulkhead and put two openings in it as high as I could to get near the ceiling. The vent to the v-berth was one of the round plastic adjustable vents and the back side facing the living space was a large vertical vent. Seems to me the inside dimension of the plenum was about 8" X 8". All I had to do was cut the seat v-berth cushion/material out to make room for the vent on the forward side of the bulkhead to make the connection to some flex hose to the AC unit. I didn't run vents to the head or the aft cabin. The unit was installed under the side cushion in the v-berth which will let you cut out a large opening for the return air grate/filter in the panel. I wish I could provide some pictures but I don't have any. The thru hull, pump, hoses and wiring were not that bad either.

I hope this helps and makes sense for you.
