1987 Sea Ray 340 Express Cruiser-Possible transmission issue

Hello, I noticed that on the starboard side engine while in neutral, the propellar shaft turns slowly. The port side engine shaft does not turn. What is this a sign of. Thanks,

Probably nothing............depending upon the type transmissions you have, to get counter-rotation, one transmission is running one direction, the other runs the opposite direction. Some transmissions have one or 2 more clutch plates in forward than in reverse so you may see one side easier to rotate by hand and may see the prop and shaft turning slowly at idle. This isn't usually anything to worry about unless you are noticing some slippage at higher rpms under load.
