We just purchased our first SeaRay. It's a 1980 225SRV Sundowner (I believe), with a hardtop. I am looking for information on how everything works. It has a sink, stove, head, washdown pump, etc. I have been on the sea ray website and downloaded all the manuals they have, and none of them explain how to use the sink or head or how to even pump out the head. How do I even know when its full????? I'd like to be as prepared as possible for our maiden voyage this spring.:smt100

belairboater,

Is yours an actual head with a holding tank? Or just a portapotti?

I'll check through all my manuals tonight to see if there is anything that might help you.

What powerplant do you have? You might want to put this kind of info in your signature.

It does have a head with a holding tank and not just a portable head. I have been waiting for the weather to clear up alittle bit, here in baltimore, so that I can get in the boat while its uncovered and play with all the bells and whistles to try and figure out some of the options. I know it has a freshwater holding tank, a waste holding tank, a stove, a sink, and what I am assuming is a connection for a wash down hose, right next to the swim platform.

Thanks for your help with this. Like I said originally, I just want to figure everything out before it gets warm and I want the boat on the water.

belairboater,

I do have an electrical schematic for my boat, a 1983 225CC. It does show connection for a seawater washdown, it will not have holding tank(s), and stove, as I have a cuddy cabin.

If you want, I can fax a copy to you.

Gregg

belairbaoter,

I'll fax it over to you today. Let me know if it comes through o.k. If not, PM me with your e-mail and I can try to scan and e-mail.

good luck.

Is this a restoration project? Or just upgrades? will you post pictures of your progress?

This isnt a restoration. It was purchased from a marina and they had it for several years after being traded in on a new boat. According to the marina, the boat was meticulously maintained and kept inside during winters. I know what you're thinking: "they are just saying that to get a sale". Well, the interior is in excellent shape with no fading, cracking or signs of any wear and still soft.

Awesome!

I know you will enjoy!

I hope the schemmatic will be useful to you!

Gregg

The scematics have already helped a great deal! I am really trying to resist the urge to give it a tune up and fire it up! It was winterized before I picked it up, so I don't want de-winterize it just to hear it run, then have to winterize it again, before putting the cover back on.

Well, I charged up the battery, attached the hose, and turned the key. To my surprise, she turned over once, fired right up and idled like a champ.

Todd,
I am pretty familiar with this vessel. I think you will be very happy with the way she performs. Feel free to send me a pm if I can help with anything specific.
