We had a freak Rain - Just one day infact in N Cal about 3 weeks ago - The boat was on the Trailer but the nose ( bow ) down so gravity ran forward. The Canavs Tarp leaked and the part that you step down into in the cuddy cabin - floor - about a 2 foot by 4 foot area ( floor ) was filled with about a foot of water. Assume the water ran in onto the carpet deck and down into the cabin. I raised the bow - turned on the Rear Bildge pump - as the forward cabin bildge is broken and it pumped water our for 20 minutes - guess the bildge was full ! - the cabin area did not drain - ( I assume that is sealed ) so I pumped that area out by hand pump. The drain cock also emptied water.

So now the carpet in the cabin is wet - I assumed the carpet would dry out in a few days - Its a week later and the carpet is still wet -

Questions

1) Is the Front Bildge - as there is a Bulkhead mid ship. Just before you step down. is the FRONT Bottom of the boat - seperate or connected to the REAR bottom Bildge - In other words IF ? there was water underneath - would it drain out through the bulkhead ? as the front bildge pump does not work ?

2) Does the drain plug hole empty the entire boat ?

3) The boat appears to be empty of water now - how can I be sure ? I know the rear bilge pump works - and it pumped out the water - and the drain plug is clear and it also drained.

4) But I dont know about the front ?

5) It appears the floor in the cabin is water tight ? and water from there could not run down into the underneath section.

6) How do I find and access the front Bildge Pump to replace it ? I looked under the step ? Access there is difficult - Do I have to remove the step - seems its solid - and built in would need to be cut out ?

Any Input - Nubeee !
Thanks a bunch
