In the process of restoring a '77 Sedan Bridge. I have finished most of the wiring. Replaced the fresh water pump with a modern ShuFlo and the bildge blowers are all new. I am totally replacing the back deck. It was rotted beyond repair. My Question-Has any one used "Bedliner" paint to cover/protect marine grade plywood? I was going to epoxy averything this cover the wood with gelcoat. The "bedliner" looks as if it would work as well. Comments/suggestions welcome.

Oh..The boat only had 3/4 plywood over the back deck when I purchased it. Don't know what the original material was when "Factory".

Thanks

When you replaced the cockpit deck did you remove the sliding glass door. My boat needs the decking replaced and it looks as if I need to replace the wood up to the engine hatches in the salon. Any info would help. Thanks.

I took the back deck completely out. At the sliding glass door I didn't have much rot and was able to inject epoxy and cover that with epoxy which firmed it up. Took treated 2X4 and rebuilt the frame then cut the port and starboard boards out of 3/4 marine plywood. I laid a framing square against the side to make a good "ruff" cut of bow in the side walls and trimed that off. I put 3 1" drain holes in the back of these boards then coated it all in fiberglass resin. With the left over plywood I made a center "hatch" and will simply have it laying in place. The 3/4 matched up to the sliding door perfectly. If you like I'll explain the resin coating process to you (Simple and easy)

Thanks for the info.. I need to remove the slider since the wood is rotted and the slider needs new rollers. I am going with the marine plwood deck and placing a sheet of Nautolex marine flooring which is the same stuff I am removing . I think this boat was decked over 15+ years ago . It should last. Good idea with the drains in the cockpit. I think the original layout does not work to well. I am adding 2 cockpit drains through the stern.
Good luck with the restoration.
