Last fall I purchased a 1977 260 Sundancer SRV. It has twin 165 mercs that have been compression tested and the outdrives have been checked and resealed by the dealer. I watertested the boat in the fall prior to winterization by the dealer. Are there any things that I need to pay special attention to or replace/repair immediately? This is a fresh water boat but it is experienced (read old). Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Hope to see you on the water this summer!!!!

When is the last time that the water intake pumps have been replaced.
In Alpha outdrives, or pre-Alpha, they are in the outdrive, and have a tendancy to "take a set", and become ineffective.

The dealer pulled the outdrives and inspected/tested them. There were no problems durring the water demo so they should be ok. What is the expected life expectency? How do I identify this if it should happen?

Alpha water pumps should be replaced every other season.
