1976 Searay Speed Questions

I have a 1976 Searay 240 with duel Mercruiser 140s. Currently we only get about 20mph out of it at about 3700 to 4000rpm cruising. Does anyone have any ideas about whether this is a bit slow or what I can do to improve my top cruising speed? I assume the props look to be original but I don't know their specs.Thanks for the help.
