Hey Guys,
I am having a huck of a time trying to go through someones elses spaghetti. i cannot figure out for the life of me how The shifter interrupter gets wired/ starter solenoid/distributor Anyone have any good pictures of twhat theirs looks like? I have two yellow wires near the shoft interuppter switch. One has a black stripe. they are very short with ring terminals on them. I bought a seloc manual but he colors dont seem to line up. Seems like i have two browns thats are connecter together that go to one side of coil, a gray wire, near coil and a black wire. then a purpke and black coming from perstolite distributor. I only have one big red cable going to my starter from one side of starter soloenoid. I beleive I have an injgintion switch gone bad so well see what progress i make today, but this wiring problem is the last thing holding me up from taking her out for the first time. thanks fro any input,

I would give you pics of mine, but I am not sure I'd trust it. I am in the process of rebuildong the boat from the stringers up and this manual has helped me begin to deceypher the mess that the PO left me with.

Guide #2 should have your engine and diagram in it, it also tells you what colors the wire should be.

Hope this helps!

well i feel like i have taken steps backward and am just getting dumber. i replace the igntion switch itt truned a few times but no fire. i changed some wired around and then nothing. I cannot get it even to crank and seem to have hot wires everywhere. i even touched both wires coming from the distributor (Black and purple),a nd they both came back hot, and they werent even hooked to anything. Im just lost

aquanoob, i clicked on number two and was hoping to see the diagrams but instead it just gave the table of contents and not diagrams

I assume it is a 233.
