I just bought this boat had in the water was runnign fine for about an 1/2 hour. All of a sudden it died like the ignition went out. I waited a day andit started fine. My first though was water entry into distibutor cap. What does everyone else think???

Good evening.
This could be one of several things and some of them could be moisture, loose ignition or coil wire ect. First pop the cap and see if there is any sign of moisture and or a spark between the points gap. If no spark is presant, most often boats with points just need a little abrasive cloath or emery board ran across the point contacts. MAKE SURE YOU TURN IGNITION OFF BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT THIS. It's a process of elimination really, but it helps to have a simple 12 volt tester and some knolage of older "point" systems.
I hope this helps you along.
