I have acquired a 1970 Panchanga srx. The boat is in tremendous shape.original gel coat is great motor was switch from the original 455 to a 454.it’s a jet driven boat.it’s a 2 owner boat the original owner had it custom made by searay in 1970. It has a plaque with his name engraved on it in the boat. I had the opportunity to talk with that fella about the boat.the second guy who bought the boat bought it for 15k (original own confirmed). That guy blew the freeze plugs and ran it hot crackin the block!
I’ve since acquired the boat and have a fresh 454 going back in the boat the spring.
My question is how do I find a realistic value of such a old boat??? I know this boat is very rare (only about 450 made) and I haven’t seen a boat in it’s shape posted anywhere on any page I’m on.....help!!!!

Since it was fitted with a jet, it was probably an Olds 455, which would be a much better choice for several reasons... unless you were planning on closing up the jet setup and going to an aftermarket Bravo with a really long-leg'd propeller. The hull will certainly do it.

Value of ANY boat isn't a function of what you paid, or what you've got in it... it's what the person who'd wanna BUY it from you. The Pachanga hull of that vintage was, from the moment a pencil hit paper, was all about going fast, by virtue of a no-nonsense hull shape, and the ability to house a whole lotta power.

IF you take that hull design, and shorten it just a little, move and reshape a couple chines, you'll see the similarity of it's more 'family-friendly' brethren.
