1969 Ford Grand Torino

OAR PLAY, my old co worker's dad has a torino that looked just like that, same color and has a 429 cobra jet in it from factory and a 67 mustang cobra jet next to it.kind of pissed me off because they where all dusty,no cover and have been sitting there for years.myself, my first car was a 73 camaro, present toy is 80 camaro,454 pro street car, tubbed with wheelie bars and street legal...P.S. wheelie bars are not just for looks :smt001

First car was a 1972 torino GT with a 351 Cobra Jet, nice car that handled well and was fast when it had to be. Now, 38 years later next to my Mercedes I have a Charger SRT and a Shelby GT on order, what's wrong with me?????

My first car was a 64 Ford Galaxie 500 XL. Fire Engine Red with black bucket seat interior.

this car was special for me as it was given to me by my Dad. Some years earlier we had taken a small plane from Seattle down to Portland to pick it up. I remember being in the Ford dealership showroom and seeing the 428 Cobra. I think there were only about a thousand of those made and I remember something like a $7K price tag, which seemed like a billion dollars at the time.

My Dad and I picked up the XL and drove it back to Seattle. A very memorable trip indeed. It stayed in our family for many years.

My first car was a 1959 VW beetle. :smt001. I paid $150 bucks for it.

My first car was a 1940 Ford sedan. My brother graciously allowed me to be a half owner(I wasn't old enough to drive). I think he used me. My first real car was a 1966 VW, brand new it was around $1,200. Most chicks thought it was cute but then hopped in with the other guys that could smoke their tires.:smt089

From what I've read in Motor Trend, Looks like the cinquecento may make it to our shores soon, with Fiat taking over Chrysler.

First car I can remember way my Dad's 1962 black VW Beetle.

That's a shame! Way too many of these cars are diying under someone's grandfathers oak tree! If you see one, ask!, you might be able to pick it up!...

It must be me, but i just don't get coming to a boat web site to talk cars.

Well this is the Tiki Bar forum.

Did you ever talk about anything other than boats with your dockmates?

Same thing here. Talk about whatever.

Yes, you should be able to buy one shortly! It's a nice little car, trendy and fun to drive...hopefully they won't remake the headlamp job of the original 500 America

I get it. I belong to forums for both of my cars, boat (obviously) and my golf cart. The golf cart forum cracks me up. Half the posts contain more mis-spelled words than not, but the knowledge those guys have is amazing and they're always willing to help - like boaters! The car forums are full of defensive, small-minded psychos with boating envy.

:smt038 I posted a few more pictures of the car on my profile page, feel free to check it out.

Very nice!! I am restoring a 68 Torino GT Convertible right now oddly enough! It is an Indianapolis Pace Car Edition with the 390!!:smt038

I very very rarely ever see one at a car show and they are very nice cars with plenty of power. I have tons of pics from when I disassembled the car and just picked up the completely rebuilt engine today. She is all numbers matching too which is a big deal on these cars.

Well when I got out of High School in 66 I got a Union job @ Alcoa with my Dad making $2.35per hr. so he was going to sign for a new car so I decided on a 66 Chevy Nova SS 350hp 327 4sp at $3000 list they were one of the fastest cars on the road at that time. The engine was actually a non injected Vet motor with all the goodies but then my future ex-wife said what are we going to get married on so that didn't happen. I ended up with a 63 Chevy Biscayne 2dr 327 4sp. Still dreaming after all these years!
