Interesting way to repower. How are you going to attach the Outboard?
Are you going to use a Metal bracket to attach the Outboard to it?
Will you reglass the area where the I/O went through the hull?

What is the model of the I/O unit? a 190? I've got a 1977 240 with a
351 OMC (Ford 351W). I'm working on the outdrive now. I may need some
replacements. What was wrong with the rig that made you want to replace it?
Now you can turn the former engine compartment into a new holding tank for fish
or "adult beverages".

I was wondering what ever happened to his project. I remember when bought my boat the guy I got it off of recomended I do the same. Seemed insane to me, but what do I know? never seen it done. Anybody ever do the same converting an IO to an outboard?
