Here we go again....
Picked up this old girl on Craigs List in Caseville MI
800 miles later she is home and with no problems on the drive :smt038
The old boat is complete with good patterns for the interior
and a sweeeet running Merc 950 Thunderbolt 6 cylinder long shaft with power tilt and trim.
I am hoping what I see of the gel is accurate and it will buff out like new but who knows

here is what we have to start..

Let the fun Begin

Looks like you have a great vessel to start with! I look forward to following your progress.

Wow, does that boat ever bring back some memories. I could only ever DREAM of owning one of those as I putted around in the family 12' aluminum tub with the 9.9 Johnson. Back in those days you could buy a real cool looking runabout out of the "Sears" catalogue too. I'd look at the pictures every day, not knowing at that young age that I was already beginning to display signs of an addiction that would lead to a membership in the coveted "Hole In The Water Club". Cool lookin' old boat and all the accessories. Hope that hull shines up for ya.

Oh yeh, and does that old trumpet horn sound as lame as the new ones?

Very cool boat, like the dash instrumentation.

Very nice boat!
Are you going to polish the hull or repaint it?
I really like the black with the red interior, and those thunderbolt mercury's are also beautiful. I still have a 120hp chryster in my garage. But a thunderbolt runs much nicer.
I'm very looking forward to see some pics from the restauration proces.

Here we go. Subscribed. Good luck Jim. I'm sure shell be as cool as the other project. (And you'll fit in this one)

even worse right now...the air compressor is very weak and the motor in it makes more noise than the horns do

Subscribed!

That would make a great Bat Boat!

Your gonna need a/c with that black hull.

was thinking a Cruise Aire unit but can't find an adequate spot for the Honda gennie.

You could always tow it behind in a tube with an outdoor extension cord. :smt101

add a three foot deep swim platform,it will run the lights for the carp shoots,or the sparkle ball next to the stripper pole.

WOW, Jim!!! That's a beauty for sure!

Thank you for sharing with us the fun you will have restoring it!

Went out last night for a few minutes before dark and hit some spots on the hull with a pressure washer
to blow off some of the nasty and oxidation ...this thing is going to shine up ok I think
If time tonite she will get an acetone bath and hopefully pull all of the deck fittings and start buffing this weekend.
most of this project will be interior ...but all of the OE stuff is there and in good enough shape to make patterns
Home Depot and Joann fabrics here I come !!!
I never in my life thought I would celebrate 60% off coupons from a fabric store :smt101
