So my dad once mention to me that he wouldn't mind having an old outboard like his dad used to have. I forget what the actual brand was that they had. I think it started with a B or a G. I'll have to ask him again. Anyway I couldn't find one that was in one piece and I ran across this 1950 Evinrude. I might've overpaid for it but it was in once piece and looked to be in very good shape. I did clean it up a little but it was with a rag and mild soap. I decided I didn't want to remove the patina on it even though it looks like it would've come off with a couple hours of work. I was afraid of taking the paint with it. It's 100% there and has a lot of compression. I honestly thing it would run. I hid this thing in my garage and then bedroom for months so I could give it as a xmas gift. Needless to say he was REALLY surprised. Onto the pics.

That's a cool looking old motor! Are you going to try & get it fired up or is it more for display?

That is a good question. I looked for one that was complete so it could be made to run. I'd personally love to see this thing running again but who knows. I'll post back details if we go down that road.

Another details is I figured out it is rated at 7.5 HP
