We are getting close to pulling the trigger on a 2010 185 Sport. This will be our first boat. It is really great to see all the happy owners. Any tips on what we need to get to be ready for our first day of lake boating?

Congrats on the new toy. you will have to post some pics:thumbsup:

Let's see.....

-Fenders and Fender lines
-Anchor and Anchor line
-at least 2 dock lines
-Life vests and 1 throw able life preserver
-Does the trailer come with a spare tire, if not you should get one..
-Fire extinguisher
-First aid kit, knife and maybe a flashlight
-And last but not least.....some cold beer!:smt115
The dealer may provide some of this....

And if you've never loaded a boat onto a trailer from the water make sure to remember to put the outdrive in the trailer position (fully raised) before you hit the gas pedal on your tow vehicle.

Make sure you have all of the required safety equipment. States are different on requirements.

Also its a good idea to have a first aid kit and sunblock.

Fenders, lines, docklines.

Don't forget the Drain Plug!!!!

Have Fun!!!

Thanks everyone. We are getting very excited for next weekend.

You may want to check with the dealer prior to coming to pick it up. On our first day we brought nothing but ourselves(although it was like the first week of March so it was still a little cold). We showed up to the dealer, they walked us around the boat (one thing I did not do is get the boat a good look over for punch-list items; luckily our dealer had did a really good job of preping the boat and there were no real issues anyway but as excited as I was that day I would not have noticed them anyway). We went in and they had fenders, dock line, life jackets, throwable, anchor, anchor line, etc (pretty much everything we needed and we loaded it into the boat) and then the captain said I am your as long as you need me, I want you to feel completely comfortable prior to leaving. I think with it being a 185 they new we were new to boating. We went over loading and unloading the boat on and off the trailer and then went out for a good two hour boat ride. The captain had Paige and I drive the boat and never made us feel like he had something else to do. It was a wonderful day and we brought nothing with us but a jacket and a hat. Enjoy your first boat ride and the boat; the 185 is a great boat!!!
