I wanted to share with the group pictures of accessory install I just did on my 195. These storage bins are a factory installed option on some of the 2007 185 and 195 Sports. I paid about $180 for them. They’re made of plastic and insulated with foam. They also have a drain that you rout over the fuel tank to the bilge. I hope they can keep beer cold!!

Very nice install..... .....thanks for sharing your experience.....

BoaterBen....

Really nice job! I've been looking to add storage space to my 195 but hadn't seen these... Did you order them directly from Searay? If so, could you please supply the info..... I'm very interested in doing the same modification....

Any info would be appreciated... Thanks...

Merge360... I just went to my local SR dealer and asked for the aft bench coolers for the '07 195. I never did get a part number but was shown a parts diagram of the coolers. He asked if I wanted just the coolers or if I wanted the drain hardware as well. I told him to get me everything. (See pictures above) He didn't order the hose because it's only sold in 50ft bulk. I went to the local hardware store for the hose. I also got a couple of plugs for the drains.

As for the install...

A bi-metal fine tooth blade on a jigsaw works well for cutting the fiberglass. You need to leave a 1" lip to the inside of the depressed area. I taped a thin block of wood to one side of the saw guide to level it on the depression. I drew a line 1" out from the ridge very quickly using a 2.5" hole saw and a marker. Just flip the hole saw upside down and put the marker in the thread hole for the arbor. Run the marker around while using slight outward pressure toward the ridge. The picture with the jigsaw in it also shows hole saw, marker, and line I created. When cutting out the fiberglass take your time as the blade will get hot and could break. Cover the area to be cut with painters tape to protect it. I found that my sawzall was much faster for the strait cuts and the jig saw was able to make the corner cuts with ease. I glued the tubs in place with clear silicone rubber adhesive.

I also did modify the coolers. I filled in the voids in the foam insulation with “Great Stuff†foam. Then after the foam cured I cut the excess off and wrapped the tubs in foil tape. Foil is a great radiant barrier and there is a lot of radiant energy coming from the engine.

Good luck with your project!

BoaterBen...

Thanks for the info.... I'm heading down to the SeaRay dealer on Wednesday to order those bench coolers!

Good idea on filling the voids with "Great Stuff" foam... I've used it in other applications (not on the boat) and it worked wonderfully!

I too will document my project and get it posted on here for others....

I actually have another project I will probably start on next week.... Installing a Clarion remote on the transom.... I'll take pics and post those up too!

BoaterBen, thanks again!

Part numbers from marine max:

1x MM2384618 "Cooler, box aft seat port" $85.49
1x MM2384618 "Cooler, box aft seat stbd" $85.49
2x MM322883 Adapter, Genova 1/2"MPT $0.99

Total Cost after tax: $201.90

I chose not to buy the tubing from them.

I just got mine in the mail last Thursday. This is on my project list for winter. Once I saw this thread and had the part numbers, it was easy. Though, the rear coolers do have seperate part numbers, so both drain face the back. 1819581 is STBD and 1819582 is PORT. This is by Sea Ray numbers on my Invoice. They did say they were going to come from Marine Max though?

Who knows, the dang salesman didn't evne know they made coolers for the 185/195. The Sea Ray Plant is about 40 minutes from my house to. So possibly in the future I will get other parts just as quick.

Well, got mine installed last weekend. Its quick if you got the right tools. A rotozip with a endmill/drill bit doesn't move very quickly. Though, we used it to cut the radii, and switch to the metal cutting wheel for the striaghts and buzzed right by with it. I would suggest that you have a partner to hold a shop vac hose by your cutting blade while you cut. Kept dust to a minimum and made clean up of what did escape in the bilge and on the seats a breeze.

Oh, and a $25 trip to the hardware store got me a drain set up with a T-fitting that ties them together with a handle valve for draining that I zip tied to the fitting on the fuel tank. Easy access and easy operation.

Highly recommend this modification.

Maybe I am just looking at this wrong. How many cans or bottles can you fit in each cooler

Just got mine installed and OMG what a mess! DO NOT use a rotozip to cut the holes, it generated way too much fiberglass dust and covered everything! I don't know how much of a mess the jigs made, but the rotozip cost me a lot of time in cleanup.

On the tubs, they are cool. I estimate 18 cans plus ice.

Don't you end up carrying a cooler with you anyway. That just does not seem like it would be enough room and the having to lift the seats each time to get a drink out. I just don't see the benefit but I quess it is how you use it that would determine that.

I can fit a full 12 pack of bottles in each side. you have to alternate how you position them though otherwise you wont fit all 12. but yea, i fit a full 12 plus ice. works awsome ;) I usually have 1 with ice and 1 with waters.

BoaterBen...

BoaterBen, thanks again!

Updates? I just got all of my parts yesterday and want to start on this same project. Thanks.

I ordered mine today. They said it will be almost 2 weeks before they come in though. And mine were more expensive. The tubs were around 100 each, andnthe adapters were 2.50 each. Whats up with that?
