180 hour gauge not working

My hour gauge has not been working for a while, any clues what I can do to fix it?

Should also note more specifics :

had engine replaced with about 40 hours on it a few years ago. hour meter never worked since then. Sounds like the dealer maybe never connected things up properly. I do get garbled info on the read out. Tried changing the dial setting on the back to other positions other than 6:00 position, only one setting had info but was also garbled.
