175 bow rider - is it true I can't install a water-separating fuel filter?

Hi. Own a 2003 175 SRX. I had been reading about the benefits of installing a water-separating fuel filter. When bringing the boat in for service at a marina I asked about adding one. I was told they couldn't because there wasn't anywhere to place it. Can anyone confirm this? And... if it is indeed true, can you suggest any alternatives that achieve the same result?

You can certainly add a separating filter... just need to find a place to put it. Don't know your boat but I'm sure there would be somewhere to put it.

if you can't find a place to install a filter it should not be too difficult to fabricate an engine mounted bracket yourself or have a local fabricator shop make one.....
