Would this be a nasty combination in a 34 Sundancer? The forecast is for Tuesday going to Block Island. It has gone down, but still a little too I think. Bums me out..I've been looking forward to this trip for a year.

I know. The prediction has come down from gusts to 35. Have to keep an eye on it.Thats not going to be a nice ride. Current predicted south winds for that day with gusts to 25 probably would be pretty dicey from MTK to Block out in the open.
Where are you coming from in LI? If you are coming from FI inlet and will be running ocean the entire trip, definitely not. If you are coming from peconic bay area then you only have the Montauk to block run with is 15 miles.....Would this be a nasty combination in a 34 Sundancer? Same on the great lakes. Worst part about bad weather (excluding the ride and potential mechanical issues) is coming into the harbor. We had a big Viking get grounded coming into our channel when he hit a trough. Can't imagine what it cost to fix those props. In the chesapeake we always add at least a foot to wave height and add to wind speed as well. The NWS usually underestimates.
We've been interested but hesitant to make the trip to Block because of variables like this. So what range of seas and winds would everyone consider favorable for a 2004 340 Sundancer ? What should we look out for to avoid. We would be traveling from the south shore and would most likely want to take the trip outside in the ocean. Anyone have tips, hints or advice?
