anyone running a 15.75" prop on their alpha 1? pretty sure mine called for a 16x16 originally but it had a 14.75x17 on it. bought a solas 15.8"x15. also bought new anodes. well the prop hits the new anode. even without the anode there is only about 1/4" clearance to the cavitation plate so not sure a 16" could even work on there? I have about 1/4" clearance with the 15.8" on there. my plan is to just cut the fin off the anode to make it a flat anode. my boat has power steering so from what i read i don't need the fin anyway.

Go to Boatzincs.com and take a look at the 46399 Mercruiser Racing Trim Anode.
I used them on the Alpha 1 gen 1 drives on my old 300 to get clearance when I went to 15 1/2 x 17 stainless props.

i ordered the flat anode from them

Unless you have power steering you may have an issue with the flat anode. That trim tab/anode is use to counteract the torque of the prop. Without it and no PS your boat will pull to one side or another....can't remember which.

On my 72 240 pre alpha drive I have a 16x15 3 blade prop. Been on there for years with no problems. As far as i know the clearances should be about the same for the alpha gen 1.
