I need to replace one of my stateroom TV's. I wanted one with a DVD player but they all load from the side. Do they make one that loads from the front? All my stateroom TV's are hard mounted and short of putting slides with locks I can't see how you could use one of the sideload DVD's.
I guess an arm bracket would let it slide out but how would you lock it down for rough seas?

If you wish to use the space that the present tv occupies for storage then a pivoting arm is what you need and the tv will sit outside of the pocket and you can mount any type of unit. If you care to do as I did and use the vacant space for the digital tv itself as well as some storage the Element 15" works perfectly (better picture than Polaroid). I installed them in the VIP stateroom pocket and inside the cabinet in the master, behind the closed door.

Jack, I don't know your setup but I had the exact same problem. The bulkhead over the master vanity was the location I selected but was only wide enough for the 15" Panasonic and no room to side load a DVD. I thought about an arm mount, but that placed the TV so far off the bulkhead it was choking off the walkway around the berth. I thought about mounting the TV to a teakwood panel that I would in turn hinge-mount to the bulkhead. It wouldn't stick out nearly as far, and I could just unlock it and swing it away from the bulkhead when needed. You might consider something along those lines as well.

Ultimately I got lazy, flush-mounted the TV to the bulkhead and just decided to watch the DVD's in the salon...
