Wish I would have known you were there. Just got home yesterday. That video is awesome.

Spent several day in tobermory and kilarney and covered portage cove. That storm on the weekend was crazy. Glad we were in harbor.

Scott

Scott, were you with the large group for the Rendezvous in Killarney? There were a bunch of boats out of Grosse Pointe in the Bad when we got there. They left on Wednesday (I think) to go to Killarney. Some big Vikings, Carvers, etc, and I did see a big Sea Ray. We got some nice aerial shots of them on anchor.

That group is from the Grosse pointe yacht club. We were in kilarney on Thursday when many of them were in harbor. I have some friends in that group but we are not members. Lots of big boats in kilarney that day. Toured a friends 63 Viking. Docked next to a 68' sundancer, which I'm told is the biggest sr ever made. I'll post a picture of it from my phone.

Here is the 68 sundancer.

The boat below hogged the gas dock for over a day. Boats had to wait hours for fuel and many were turned away.

Wow! Would be hard to get in hidey-hole anchorages with those boats!

I think thats actually a 680 sun sport, right? Unbelievable boat. I've never seen one with that hull color.

Great photos. We tried to get there this year and had the trip cut short due to an emergency. Will be there next July. I have to ask about the rigging of the bow anchor lines of the boats on the left where the sterns are tied off (middle of the drone photo series). It looks like something to center the pull of the anchor due to the absence of a bow roller? I ask because I have the same condition and have to tie off to a port or starboard bow cleat.

If I recall correctly it is a snubber for an all chain rode. the chain is in the roller as designed, the snubber clips to the chain and comes back to each cleat. The chain is then loosened a bit between the windlass and the snubber connection point. This reduces the chain noises in the boat as well as gives some stretch when swinging.

Great pics, I should've lefty boat in St Ignace where I purchased it to make this trip easier. Now it's still just a bucket list item
