10,000 character limit in post

I'm trying to update the "Official" list and get an error that says 10,000 character limit... there is only like 2400 characters in this list, but it won't allow me to add any more.

I have found in other applications/forms that some also count spaces and sometimes entire lines between sentences or paragraphs as characters.
