:smt100 Hi SR Sport Boat Friends, this is my first post. Need your help. Took delivery of my '08 240-SD over 60 days ago, and we finally hit a stretch of weather out here in Midwest warm enough to actually get in the water and swim. The last (bottom) step of my swim platform ladder is freely moving, and the others appear to be firmly secured and/or glued? Is this normal, or something I should have addressed at my 20-hr oil change at the dealer? Weird, but I think it is actually easier for a 50+ guy like me to get started on that first step. I just wanted to see if anybody else's is like this, or if mine will eventuall fall off and sink to the bottom of the lake? Thanks in advance for your help, and I wish everyone a SUNNY and safe 4th of July holiday weekend!

Do mean the actual step is loose? Or that the other ones don't slide easily into each other? Yes to either question is something that you can have checked under warranty.

Hi --Sorry for not being clear. Yes, the actual step is loose. Ladder telescopes properly. So you think it is a problem? Thanks for the quick reply.

Not a "life or death" situation, but it is not supposed to rotate. It should be solid. There are no visible fasteners, so I would guess that it is either epoxied in place, or more likely, there are "push pins" molded into the step and then it gets pushed into the frame. Just a guess, though - I've never had this style apart.

If you like it the way it is, then let it be. But I think it will eventually get looser and looser and eventually come off. Of course, you know this will happen when you are stepping on it... then your leg will slip through between the first and second rung... one leg above the bottom rung, one below... guess what's going to hit next? :wow:
