I have a 2007 320 sundancer and the horn is broken-I called my local dealer and he wants $165 to replace the horn-The horn only costs $39-Can I buy a horn at a store like West Marine and replace it myself? Is it easy to do? The dealer discouraged me from adding an air horn due to the cost and problematic nature of them. Are there any other options that I can due to make the cost lower? The stock horn does sound cheesy-Please advise

They are real easy to install, two screws and a plug on the inside. Don't know if you can find a similar one at West Marine, but take your old one with you and compare :)

+1 - ditch the duck fart and go for some trumpets! Besides, if they were so problematic, why would they be used on all of the larger boats out there and why would they be considered 'upgrades'?

Just playing devils advocate - I say go for it.

My 340's INOP horn turned out to be a bad 5 amp breaker. MM replaced the horn, still didn't work, then the mechanic swapped the port wiper 5 amp breaker for the horn breaker - the horn worked fine then.

$5 for a new breaker - they sent me a replacement free.

It's probably worth trying if you are handy. The CB panel with the horn and wipers CBs is located under the helm.

Unfortunately, if it works, you still have the duck fart.

PS, my horn attached to my quarter-million dollar boat that I paid for sounds like a dry nasty weak grandma's duck fart.

Maybe you should have checked out the horn on your 1/4 mill boat before buying... You must have bought it used. And for the record.... I don't drink, maybe you should look into that?

I was just trying to explain your run-on, mis-punctuated sentences, and I didn't want to assume you were writing that poorly sober.

Thusly proven wrong, I maintain that the moral of the story is that no matter if you are the CEO of Brunswick or the janitor at Sea Ray, I own the boat, I paid for it myself, and I am free to critique it in any fashion I see fit.

If you don't like it, ignore my critiques or find another means of employment.
