'05 260DA Starboard switch panel lighting???

Are the switch labels on the starboard switch panel supposed to be backlit? I was cruising with a couple of friends after dark a few nights ago when one of them pointed to the switch panel and asked if the switch labels were supposed to be lit. He noticed that I flipped the arch lights on to see the panel when turning on my running lights after I hauled the anchor.

I can't remember if they were lit last season or not. I think they were, but I am not sure. Last night, I took a small mag light and shined it through the labels from the back by going up through the flip down door where the fuses are. Light does come through the labels. I looked up under the panel and I did not see anything that looked like backlighting, but the wiring harness was preventing me from seeing everything that is up there.

If they are not supposed to be lit, please tell me before I start removing the panel trying to fix something that ain't broke.

Thanks guys. When my friend asked "Don't these light up?" I really couldn't answer the question. I didn't do much running at night until this year.
