Hi all. I just purchased a new to me 03 240 Sundeck and noticed a couple of times climbing up and down the swim platform ladder, my feet hit the prop. Pretty sure I had the outdrive trimmed all the way down. Any other 240 owners experience this as well? Assume I just do my best to remember to turn the steering to port or starboard when someone is boarding?

Thanks for the feedback!
Scott

With the wheel straight and the outdrive trimmed up, the rear prop is really close to the ladder.

I keep it turned to port while anchored and it’s not an issue.

When you climb up the ladder do you hear a creaking sound? When I climb up mine I hear it on the side of the ladder...trying to figure out if this is normal

No creaking sound on mine but haven’t paid too much attention. Next time out will pay closer attention.

Do you have the transom trim switch? If not, they are $65 and about 20 minutes to install. I stand on the outdrive fin and hit the trim switch, and it power lifts me into the boat. Been doing it for 20 years, but I'm sure that someone who hasn't tried it will fuss about it not being safe.
