I know I posted last year about purchasing a used 240DA. Almost a year has passed, and I believe the boat purchase has finally gained momentum. As I mentioned before, we are looking to purchase a pre-owned Sea Ray 260DA (settled on a little bit of a bigger size due to the standard options that come with a 260, such as a windlass, and a little extra size couldn't hurt).
This is going to be our first pre-owned boat. We are looking to spend around ~$40-45k hence I believe the vintage for this size boat would probably be around 2003-2005 with about 150-200 hours on it.
We will get a broker and also do a mechanical and survey inspector, but when getting a boat this vintage what are we to expect and what to look out for.
More specifically, if this boat is to find a new home in Europe (where we are going to be shipping it) we would like to do as much work on it before we send it there as obviously on the small Croatian island it is harder to get things repaired, replaced, and done (though we do have a good mechanic we know there in the Marina).
