For all those Suburban vs. Expedition / Gas vs. Diesel discussions. I saw these pics over on Chevy forum - a custom ’10 Duramax Suburban – for those Chevy Suburban diehards that do not want to re-build an older Ford Excursion. I understand it’s by a place called Duraburb in FL (outside Orlando) that builds them - have no idea of quality or details - but interesting custom shop & results to say the least …

GM has a 4.5L Durmax V8 for 1/2 ton trucks totally developed and waiting for production. The project got killed in 2008 when the price of diesel spiked and GM went broke. They even built a prototype Suburban 3/4 ton with the motor that was shown at a number of shows a year or two ago. I think if they built put a diesel in a Suburban people would buy it. I have owned 3 suburbans over the years and I would be a buyer.

i would be a buyer also. the torque in the diesels are amazing

I had a 1997 Dielsel Suburban, towed great and that was with the old engine. I think Chev is missing a market. Can't be that big a deal to offer a Diesel option.
