stiffness

Hi there, Quick question. Just seeing if anybody knows how to adjust the stiffness on my throttle as it backs off slowly while on plane so I have to keep my hand on it all the time. It's a 1989 Sea Ray 345 with twin mercruiser 454's with the generic separate throttle and shift. Thanks!
