270 slx water in bilge

I just purchased a 2008 SeaRay 270 SLX with a 496 MAG with 95 hours. I have water in my engine bilge is this normal for this model? MY older 1986 270 Sundancer with twins stayed dry as a bone. There is a transponder that is mounted in the area could there not have been enough 5200 applied there...
