Thanks for the wisdom. It's the first time this has happened to me in the middle of the season. We are in a different marina though -- one much further into the channel. I had new bottom paint applied two years back. I normally just clean it at the beginning of each season.
I'll check into...
I had my boat hauled out and bottom-cleaned at the beginning of the season, and all was well. Then due to my schedule, I couldn't use the boat for about 30 days. When I took it out last week, the boat was really struggling to keep at speed. It seemed the motors were working much harder than...
Yup, just order the exact ones that are on there now...
I made the mistake of installing the wrong ones my first time, and had to go back to redo it all.
When I bought the boat, it was all one giant piece of carpet. So I ordered from snap-in carpet and had it done in separate pieces.
Here's a pic:

When I replaced my carpet, I had it done in separate pieces. Much, much easier to get to the engine compartment without unsnapping everything. And it still looks great.

Cool! Staying overnight at different marinas and coves around the Puget Sound is our favorite part of owning the boat. I agree that the bed leaves a bit to be desired - but it's kinda like camping.

The 'gas springs' that hold the engine hatch up have come loose. The screws of the mounting bracket were spinning in the stripped-out holes. I figured that some 3M 5200 would do the trick. My understanding was that 5200 is permanent, and it bonds to just about everything. I applied a...
There is a drain "tunnel" running from the cockpit area out to the swim platform. It's only an inch or two above the swim platform level. When that big wave overtakes the swim platform, it pushes water all the way back into the cockpit area, and then drains down into the engine compartment...
It seems after every use, I have a quart or two of water in the bilge. I've noticed that if I come down from plane too fast, that big wave comes up over the swim platform and floods into the bilge. Now that I come down real slow, i just get a little bit. Also, After I give the boat a good...
My guess is a re-purposed piece of wood they used at the factory. Maybe was originally planned for something else, and they used it on your boat. They probably figured, "Ahh, who will see it?"
It reminds me of how when you open up a wall on your house to do some work, you find old soda cans...
Bob, That is just some weather stripping from the hardware store. The original panel had something similar that was all squished from years of being compressed, so I just replaced it with something similar in size (maybe 1/4 or 3/8 inch wide). And yes, I did remove the brackets for each...
