I need some help selecting replacement leaf springs for my Shorelandr trailer. I have a single axle trailer for my SR 185 Sport, that is rated for 3100 lb capacity. The Axle is rated GVWR: 3740 lbs, Carrying capacity: 3100 lb. I currently have 25.25" springs with 5 leaves. I'm confused...

I had to replace the fin anode with a flat anode when I went to the Mercury Enertia prop. The prop has such a long rake, it would hit the fin.

I've had excellent results with the SS mercury Inertia prop on my 185 with the 4 cylinder.

I got a custom cover from boatcovers.com that is made out of their Weathermax fabric. The quality and fit is excellent. The weathermax fabric is as good as Sunbrella, and perhaps more durable. They have an optional kit that provides a bungee strap that will snug below the rubrail. And...

I put mine under one of the front seat storage compartments. It's a tight fit, but it works fine.

Anyone else get the Enertia?

I did extensive googling on the topic of switching powerplants from the 4 cyl to the 6. From what I gathered, it is a big expensive job, and you are probably better off just upgrading boats if you want the v6.

I ordered mine from Cabellas last year. Surprisingly, it was the best price I could find on it.

I got the 19 pitch. The rake on the Enertia is enough that you will not be able to use the fin shaped annode above your prop. You'll have to replace the fin shaped annode with a round (flush) annode. They're about $8 to replace, and held on with one bolt.

You definitely will not want the 80's. I have the 60's on my 2007 185. I have them set on the lowest firmness and they do great. I picked up a little speed with them too.

I trailer with mine up and have never had any problems. But, you have to be very careful going through the drive thru's at McDonalds.:wink:

A more effective and much less expensive solution would be to install the Nauticus Smartabs. I installed the tabs and a new prop, but got much more noticeable results from the tabs
