    I HATE SPIDERS !!

We keep a spray bottle of Home Defense on the boat and spray lockers and under the gunnels once a year. Works great.

    Pink or blue

My boat was winterized at the factory and shipped to northern Michigan (lower peninsula). It was pink. As others have said, this stuff can turn to slush probably somewhere south of zero degrees F, but slush does no damage. It's the hard freeze you need to worry about.

    420 DA Thread

The yellowing is uv damage. Toilet bowl cleaner makes it white again and does not damage gel coat. You will need to rewax the surrounding area but you are doing that already.

    Pink or blue

Depends on where you live. -50 sounds safe for Missouri, even W. Michigan. Not sure I would use it in areas of the US along the Canadian border.

    winterizing with air

Inside heated storage continues to look better and better. Drain the water tank, pump the head, stabilize the fuel, change the fluids and filters, wash the boat. It's done.

    Premuim gas in vehicles ???

A little off topic, but Crusader strongly recommends using regular vs. high test in their new 8.1s. The reps say right up front, you are wasting your money if you buy the high test. It gets back to the electronic fuel monitor software. Buy the higher octance only if regular is not available and...

    Premuim gas in vehicles ???

I've been driving Acuras since 1985 or 86 whenever they first came out. There is no noticable difference when you switch to regular other than fuel mileage. I'm driving a 2006 TL Type S right now. When you put regular in it the mileage drops to 21MPG from 24. I had a 2004 TL with the standard...

    Hint of sadness

My parents lived in Phoenix for many years. My epxerience visiting there was outside temps from May to mid September were pretty hot for boating. I know,.....it's a dry heat so it only feels like a 110. When do AZ boaters stop and begin boating because of the heat?

Loss of market or loss of share?

Possibly, although it is more likely that the subprime housing market people could only barely afford a house, let alone a boat. More likely the fall off in small boat sales is related to the people who have good jobs but fear layoffs or the loss of bonuses. They don't want to take the chance on...

Loss of market or loss of share?

It's a reflection of the credit crunch. Cars are also soft, especially for the big 3. The low end of any product is always the first to suffer when there is speculation of a recession. High net worth people look at the softening of any market as a buying opportunity which explains big boat...

Dead rise and it's affect on handling

The bigger the boat the less deadrise you need and fine entry becomes more important. Smaller boats in the 21-26 foot range benefit from more deadrise because they don't alway span the waves in bigger water and can pound easily. As I recall the 79 26 SR was more than the boat you...

    Hint of sadness

There is life after boating. We put our boat in on April 15 and pull it out on October 15. Then it's 3 weeks of touring beautiful Michigan in the Audi TT with the top down. Then the holidays with kids and skiing followed by working on the boat. The cycle repeats every year. We love it.

The absolute best polish for our Sea Rays?

We started using Ivory dish washing soap this summer after the boat boy stripped all the wax off using boat soap. I noticed some of the bigger boats that I cruise with never seem to rewax decks like I need to in July. Got this tip from one guy whose boat always looks great. After the switch, our...

Water level Guage for Freshwater Tank?

I installed a brand known as Tank Tender. It has been around for 15-20 years and has a solid track record. The base model can monitor three tanks so you could do water for example, plus a waste tank and a diesel (not gas) tank. It works off of air pressure with a simple thin straw that goes...

Recommendations for portable Cockpit Table for a 260DA?

Google Kettler resin patio furniture and you will find all kinds of options for boat tables. They are high density, high quality, and heavy products that are UV and salt water proof. There is a good assortment of chairs as well. The finishes are first rate. I bought some a few years ago and they...

    380 Canvas replacement

If it works for you you might consider adding a drop curtain to the original design. This is a very useful piece of canvas in your climate. You could also add a cockpit cover and use your canvas on week ends or when cruising. The cover will add years of high quality life to your replacement canvas.

    Windlass Anchor Line

A swivel at the point where the rode attaches to the anchor eliminates a lot of the kinking issues. We've not done a thing to our anchor rode in three years and it gets alot of use. So far it has been problem free.

    I HATE SPIDERS !!

Bug b' Gone. Just about any spray for a garden or flowering trees will kill spiders. Just check to see if spiders are listed on the labe. I've not noticed any ill effects on fish.

    Winterizing Recommendations

We store inside heated and this is the way to go if it's available. The boat stays clean and there is no mildew. You get wide temperature fluctuations storing outside and condensation can develop. This often results in mold and mildew problems.

    Flying a Burgee

If you boat about 150 hours per year, a burgee lasts about two seasons.
