    79' SRV 260 w/ TWIN 470's, anything I am missing........

It's not that bad of a job without pulling the engine as long as you have enough room for a puller and installer for the fly wheel. I use a piece of 1/2-20 threaded rod, 3 nuts and a spacer to install the flywheels instead of the mercruiser $195 tool. Lots of cursing the engineer(s) that...

Check This Out, A must See

Well, first off, this will be my last post on this forum unless I see some attitude changes. I know I don't post that much, but I'd rather persue my hobbies than type about them(300 + hours per year on the boat). Second of all: If it will make you guys feel better, I'll make spark arrestors...

    My 11 year old Captain!

I'm so proud of her. When she was 7 she started piloting the boat while I'd set lines for trolling.

A SRV 270 Saga In Photographs.

You can come up here and get mine this winter. All I really need is a couple of 4.3s put in. LOL. Seriously, it looks great! Could you post a couple of pictired of the engines? I'd like to see the spacing and if you have measurements between the transom plates would be great.

New member, new (used) boat coming!!!!!!!

Practice on the lake with a bouy or something similar. You are going to fall in love with the amount of control you have with twins. I have twin I/Os and love it. Inboards are better yet. Congrats on the boat! As for the differences, you'll notice with one forward, one reversed, the boat...

    I finally found my boat!!!

The main reason I say this is my first time out this year after replacing the cam seals on my starboard engine, the port cam seals went on me. My project for today. Hopefully, it's the last problem for a while, yeah right!

    Fresh water pump loses prime

mwph, I'll have to check before I get another pump. It does work well after I prime it myself so that makes a lot of sense. Once in a while I do see a little water under the strainer. I wish everything that's 28 years old still worked as good!

    Fresh water pump loses prime

It probably wouldn't be a bad idea, it is the original pump from 1982!

    Fresh water pump loses prime

My fresh water pump keeps losing it's prime and won't pump. I can't find any leaks, the diaphrams look good and it works after I prime it myself. I have a Shurflo 3gpm standard pump. Any ideas?

    Stuck Table Post

I had the same problem once!!!!! I have a nice scar on my right cheek where the post hit my cheek bone. Kind of a sickening sound when it hit and a lot of blood. I was wiggling it and pulling up at the same time when it surprised me and let loose. Ok, go ahead and laugh now since it was a...

What to look for / at while on a test drive?

If you want to sleep 4, you'd be better off looking at a 260 or even a 250 Sundancer unless you are limited by a tow vehicle. Right now I see a lot of boats for way less than I would expect to pay. By the way, I'm glad you passed on the 470!
