    Smartcraft Speedometer

My speedomter has been acting wierd lately. At times it registers speed, however other times it jumps to 70 MPH and holds there. When I start the engines, it jumps to 70 MPH??? Any ideas?? AGA 2006 280 Sundancer Twin 5.0 Bravo III

    Buying a Sundancer, undecided 260 or 280

$60,000 seems a bit high. I purchased a 2006 280 Sundancer with twin 5.0 Bravo III's, 5.0 generator, camper canvas and most opions for $68,000 lst year. Very low hours. I think it is time to negotiate.

Why did you buy a Sea Ray and what other boats did you consider?

Hull lay out, quality of hardware, fit and finish. I also felt that the company could withstand the economic conditions when I purchased the boat. I moved up from a WellCraft Nova. TG

    Noticed Some Water

I checked the hoses and found no leaks. The pump is working. I dried the area as best I could. Water seems to be seeping (very lightly) from the bottom of the box were it meets the hull. How would that be repaired??? TG

    Noticed Some Water

Checked the connections and found none leaking. Verified that the bilge inside the sump box is working. I think the box may be leaking a bit. How in the world do you fix that? TG

    Noticed Some Water

My wife showered in the boat last season. The water around the sump looks rather old. The carpet in front of the bathroom door has always been dry. I can't say that I noticed any water around the sump last season. i am going to check to be sure the sump pump is working and then dry the area...

By the way, I assume this water exits the boat. I don't have a gray water pump out. Does the discharge go into the holding tank??? TG

    Noticed Some Water

I correct myself. The water is around the sump box (under the step in cabin). This sump box has air conditioner condensation hose, discharge hose and shower drain hose connnected to it. Should there be water around it??? TG

    Noticed Some Water

I noticed a bit of water around the bilge under the cabin step in my 280DA. Is this normal? Can't remember if it was there last season (my first season of ownership).

Whats your Boats name and what does it mean to you

My boat is named "Port Alone". When my kids were growing I always joked with them that when I retired I wanted to be "Left" alone, hence Port Alone. Unfortunately, the 280DA is ready for retirement, however I am not ($$$$)

Carpet wet in Cabin - 2005 280 Sundancer

I had to seal the walk through windshield door on my 280DA. The bottom portion of the windshield door was leaking. the water would travel along the windshield on the SB side and spill water below the helm on the carpet. Happened when I washed he boat or during heavy rain. TG
