Well after some time of being inactive, and some time of just reading threads, I thought it was time to reintroduce myself. At the time I went under the name of Beerman due to being in the beer industry. I think the last time I actively posted, I had just lost my job and had a daughter...
Classic. This is Mercury's 44da that they test the Zeus drives on. Must be seeing what ice will do to them. This is at my marina 2 slips from where mine usually sits.
The holding tank gauge on our 280 has never worked. When the tank is empty it reads empty but after using it it will never read 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 or full. I thought it was time to fix it. Any ideas?
Unfortunately it was because she felt under the weather. She was in California and went to the dr because she was worn out. They diagnosed her with Leukemia. We flew her back to Wisconsin and got her into the UW Hospital in Madison. We have been in the hospital for 3 days now and they are...
So my wife and I are throwing the discussion around about moving up. We boat on a fresh water chain of lakes that is around 20ft deep in the largest lake. We do alot of raft ups in the summer, every Sat and Sun depending on the weather. The area we raft up in we usually bow in then shut the...
I just had my IAC valve go on one of my engines and while the shop was working on it they said there was a bulletin for the alternator wiring from Mercury. They are replacing the wiring this week as warrenty work. Not sure of the details but thought I would mention it.
Well on Friday we got done work a little early and went to the dealer to pick up the boat. We dropped it off the week before to have all 3 impellers changed as we did not know when they were last replaced. We picked up the boat and trailered it the last 5 miles to the marina. Once we arrived the...
Here was the wife helping polish the boat. She wasn't smiling as big after I told her that it was only the compound and we still had to polish and wax it.
Here you go. No more need for hydraulic lifts or pulling two trailers to the lake. Watch the video, they even say you can use it in the ocean. http://www.raidentech.com/asocscbapoin.html
I have the factory installed Raymarine 215 VHF radio in my 280. After I turn on the VHF and wait for a minute or two a loud beeping goes off and NMEA is flashing on the screen. After that it will sometimes start beeping at different times. I don,t have the manual and was wondering if this is...
I have a 5E Kohler generator in my 280 and after I start it, it will run for a couple of minutes and then start to sputter and then dies. If I let it sit for a minute and try to start it, it will run for a couple minutes and do the same thing. I pulled the one plug I could get to and it was OK...
Thank goodness I don't use the lake 1 mile from my house. The bank gave way and emptied the lake into the Wisconsin River. It took 3 homes with it and 2 more were damaged. It was a sight to see. It is amazing how fast a lake can empty out. http://www.nbc15.com/home/headlines/19523869.html
Well we did it. We brought home our new to us 2003 280 Sundancer. It has twin 5.0ltrs with Bravo 3's, 5kw generator and most of the options you could get including the black canvas. It has 300 hrs on it and looks great. The dealer we bought it from was the same one that we bought our 240da from...
