I have a 2000 290 AJ. The hull and layout is the same as the 2008. Perhaps i can offer some perspective. Last weekend for the July 4 holiday, I took my family to Fernandina beach fl for an overnight. Our family of 4 was comfortable. It works fine. Just cant fully extend laying down in the main...
ok, i will be the voice of reason here....step away from the boating showroom.
You mentioned that your only payments are a truck and rent. If you do not own a home or other assets, I would discourage you from aquiring six figures $$$$ of a DEPRECIATING ASSET.
Do youself a favor and use...
i have a couple of pics but I don't know how to post them here.
I took a coat hanger and dug around. At this point, i am letting it bake in the sun.
I might just fill and hope for the best.
Any advice on filler?
I found the rot from the holes drilled for the windlass foot controls. They are about 6 inches in diameter. It would be impossible to dig it out due to the angles.
How do i know how extensive the damage is without making swiss cheese of my deck?
While taking apart my foot controls for the windlass (to clean contacts) i noticed that the wood inside the deck is rotten. Sure enough, the foot controls were not properly sealed. What now?
boat is year 2000 290 AJ
advice appreciated.
well coming from a 290 AJ owner, I can rule the 290 AJ out for you. You are much too tall to sleep comforably!
I was interested in the new 340 sportsman too, but couldn't find one. I think they may be pretty rare.
i agree. Aim low...really low.
Marine max is on the verge of bankruptcy and NO boats move in December.
You have all the negotiating power. If they don't bite, another dealer will.
jacksonville could be a hidden gem. I own 2 homes here. One 1500 sq feet on canal just yards from the intracoastal valued at $550k.
Other home is in Floridas only freshwater lagoon with a lock that goes to the intracoastal. Starting at 1 million.
