Have a question for the more knowledgeable guys here. What are some of the good and bad point between a mercruiser and cobra drive? I know a guy that says to stay from cobra because they are to expensive to fix. Do they break that often or the parts that hard to find?

Hoosier, what pitch prop do you use to pull with? I have 19 on mine and thinking about going to a 17 for some more umph out of the hole and getting a 21 pitch for cruising.

have 72 weekender and currently have a 19 pitch on. Get about 30 mph at 4300 rpm. I am going to experiment with a 17 and 21 pitch also.

Have a 72 weekender. We get around 30 mph out of it with a 19 pitch prop. Thinking about getting a 21 pitch prop and see how that does.

Nice avatar dave:) Except I think i could only get a twin 50cal on the bow. This boat comes in at whopping 4400 lbs empty. Trying to figure out a way to get it on plane faster and keep the bow down without increasing the drag too much.
