    Aztrax Marine-Satelite TV System w/DVR

Following is more detailed information. The Aztrax system is a portable yet affordable way to watch satellite television at anchor. It uses an ultra small 16-inch dish that is lightweight and portable. Sets up in minutes using a suction cup mounting system or optional rail and rod holder...

    Aztrax Marine-Satelite TV System w/DVR

The Aztrax uses 12VDC power to track the satellite at dock or on anchor. The DVR uses 120VAC power -- we would run it on an inverter while at anchor when the generator wasn't running and it was fine. However, running time will depend on your battery bank when using the inverter.

    Aztrax Marine-Satelite TV System w/DVR

Sure will. You run the coax(s) from the Aztrax to the DirecTV box just like you would from a regular DirecTV dish antenna. You can use a regular DirecTV box or a DirecTV DVR. I'm pretty sure you can download the installation instructions from either of the web sites in my original message and...

450 EB Ready For Second Round

I tried this once and lost the info while posting but here goes again. We loved our 450 EB and found it extremely beneficial during our Great Loop experience. In no order of importance here are our thoughts on several issues during the 13 months we were on Xplorer. Solid electronics – we...

    Aztrax Marine-Satelite TV System w/DVR

We have an Aztrax Marine-Sat Satellite system available (excellent condition). We used it while on the loop mostly from inside the fly bridge (yes it worked great even shooting through canvas and isinglass. We found this more convenient than the Follow-me TV alternative because of its...

450 EB Ready For Second Round

Joe, I just wrote this long winded reply to your question and somehow lost it as it didn't post. In brief words we loved the 450EB for lots of reasons. I'll see if I can recover the longer version over the next couple of days.

    Binoculars

We have three pair on the boat. West Marines 7x50, Tasco Offshore 7x50 w/compass and light and Cannon IS 7x30. We prefer the offshore and the image stabilized Cannon and use them most of the time. We picked up the Cannon at B&H Photo.com.

450 EB Ready For Second Round

I hate to admit that our great loop adventure is nearing an end but we’re now headed north on the ICW. We have enjoyed cruising in so many of your cruising areas and meeting so many great CSR boaters. However, with the end of our adventure we must offer this great boat to new owners for their...

Adding a Fresh Water Filter System

We took two separate but similar approaches to water purification. For drinking water we installed a Nature Pure filter (http://www.generalecology.com/) with its own tap in the galley. This ensures that either dock water taken onboard directly or water from the fresh water tanks are filtered...

    America's Great Loop

Petep - That's a great question. We were also concerned about running the Cummins at a load factor less than70-80%. We talked with Cummins reps (including their technicians that we trusted and had them perform 1000 hour service on the engines even though they had only 460 hours as we didn't...

    America's Great Loop

Petep - Gee, that's a great question (how does the 450EB stack up to the DA for this type of trip). Probably comes down to personal choice - both are well suited for the loop. The EB gets you a little higher off the water so the view is a bit better especially when travelling the GIWW, ICW and...

    America's Great Loop

Ylwjacket, We are at the Tarpon Springs Municipal dock through Sunday then we're moving down to Clearwater. Doug - There are many outstanding legs of the trip but two that really stood out are the Trent-Severn Waterway/Georgian Bay in Canada and the Tennessee River. On the other hand and...

    America's Great Loop

Thanks for all the positive posts. When Chuck approached me about making a posting here I wasn't sure there would be much interest. Glad to see I was wrong. Don't count the dreams out. There are two 24' boats on the loop this year. Another couple we met is from Seattle. They trailered...

    America's Great Loop

Doing America’s Great Loop by boat was a long time dream of mine and now we are nearly three-fourths of the way through it. Some on CSR have asked us to share our adventure with others here and we are excited to do so. Our experience has far exceeded our expectations. The best part aside...

    Lily "D"

Congratulations Lilly D on your recent purchase. We, like Scott and Yellow Jacket, believe you have acquired a great vessel. We are currently doing the Great Circle Loop on our 2000 450EB and have put a little over 4,500 miles under her hull this year. The Cummins 450s have performed...

    Thermo's on 6C's

Chad, I researched this alot prior to starting our trip because we would spend many many hours at idle or slightly above going through the Erie, Rideau and Trent Severn Canals -- even went so far as to purchase four 180 degree thermostats (remember 2 per engine). My plan was to run the 160s...

    Shower Sump

Thanks to all for the great suggestions. We will add bilge cleaner and CP to the mix of cleaners in the shower sump. Also, we have been using Raritan's KO and CP for the last 8 years in all our boats vaccuflush systems without a problem. In those eight years we have only had to replace one...
