The official '99-'04 260DA Sundancer thread

Yup... that's the one I found.. it's for the 2001, but I've poked around enough on my 2003 to see that it's really close to the same config... I'm not as eager to put bolts all the way through the door though. I think I'm going to put this off as long as I possibly can ;)

    Southport Marina to Baldhead Island

Like all things, it all depends on the weather and the tides. you can get 3ft rollers on a bad day when the wind and tide are opposing.. other days it's nice and quiet. Not sure I would try it in a small boat, but I do see john boats out there all the time.

The official '99-'04 260DA Sundancer thread

Just checking before I dive headlong into another sticking door problem... has anyone tried to replace the *bottom* rollers on the door without pulling the windshield and console? It appears that we now have one set of rollers that has completely bit the dust. This leaves the door in a way...

Parts help for 2013 350 Mag - New O2 Sensor

Sorry... that was a blonde moment. I just think I just discovered that ALL the 350 Mag's with EC use the same O2 sensors - that makes my job a bit easier :)

Parts help for 2013 350 Mag - New O2 Sensor

There is a long story behind this, so I'll cut to the chase. We re-powered 3 yrs ago and do not have the serial# on the engine - it's not on the cover and it wasn't on the receipt of purchase. I'm not about to pull the engine to get it off the back of the block. The only thing we know is...

    Props vs Barnacles?

I keep an old bamboo spatula on the boat. Every time we go for a swim I break it out and scrape the barnacles off the prop and hub. We also paint the prop when we paint the outdrive, but it never lasts long. Even the smallest amount of barnacle growth on the prop will dramatically affect...

3yrs after re-power starting to run hot

Just following up on this one with the results. Before we hauled her out to replace the impeller I decided to go ahead and replace the thermostat since it's a quick easy job. Pulled the old thermostat out, put a new one in and she is now running 170-175 with no issues. The thermostat was in n...

3yrs after re-power starting to run hot

Thanks. Being a novice.. The thought of stuffing anything in a hose with water running into the bilge terrifies me. I'll haul it and feel a bit more confident with it. This will be the first time I've done this on my new engine. It was a breeze on the older engine. This one looks like I have to...

3yrs after re-power starting to run hot

Thanks guys. The boat is kept in the water year round. We flush it regularly with fresh water after trips but don't use saltaway(yet). The area is sandy bottom but we never really operate in areas that are shallow enough for it to ingest sand (family is a funny, they like to swim and not...

3yrs after re-power starting to run hot

I repowered 3yrs ago, a complete replacement including all attached pumps, alternators etc. I'm raw water cooled and in saltwater, we average 200hrs a year in usage. This summer I've watched the temp gauge slowly climb each time I go out, normally it reads about 175-180, today we were running...

    Port City Marina in Wilmington?

We run over to downtown Wilmington a couple of times a year and found Port City Marina to be nice but overpriced. While the docks were nice, there were no facilities and fuel wasn't available (yet) when we were there last fall. We prefer Bennet Bro's/Cape Fear Marina just upriver from there...

260 Sundancer Windlass Installation (2003 Model)

Kevin, I wanted to thank you for this detailed post. We added the windlass to our 2006 26' Dancer last October and your photos and notes were spot on and a HUGE help. The only thing we did a little different... we cut some starboard to match the shape and outline of the windlass with a 1"...

    260DA coast worthy?

It's plenty fine. We're looking at doing something very similar this spring... we'll trailer to Myrtle then cruise down to Charleston for the weekend. We normally would run the entire distance from Wrightsbville Beach to Myrtle but I'de rather spend an extra day in Charleston Harbor instead of...

    Snap on Mat repair

We did the same thing to our carpets a while back. We are going on Season 3 after the plastidip backing and it's holding it's own. it's just now starting to degrade a bit and leave black "bits" and dust on the floor when pulling the carpet up. We are heavy users and constantly pull the carpet...

    Battery wiring mystery

We cleaned all the contacts to the battery posts and the cable connections and re-seated them making sure we were contacting with 100% surface. I didn't check the switch connections (never touched it before or where they connect to the engine). I'll check those as well.

    Battery wiring mystery

The ground/negative wire that runs to the engine and the rest of the boat is one single cable with a two connections (one for each battery). It appears to be created with the battery connector in the middle of the cable very much like this one (except it's black) In theory by disconnecting...

    Battery wiring mystery

I have a 2003 260 Sundancer using the stock battery switch and wiring. 2 batteries (12v g27 starter on battery 1, 12v g27 deep cycle on battery 2). The negative leg is shared between both battery 1 and battery 2 via a single cable that attaches inline to both batteries.. Now the backstory...

The official '99-'04 260DA Sundancer thread

Has anyone replaced the lightbulb over the sink in the galley? it's the one in the dual socket fixture directly over the fridge and has the Edison style screw bulb on it? It is the last bulb on my list to convert to LED but I can't find one that fits this socket and the size allowed in the...
