I have not lost anything. I like being on the water and the peace and solitude as well. Sometimes I like to hear my boat rumble. My choice. By you and others making assumptions about others you lose. In my opinion you are a dick for acting like you are above others with your remarks. I hope you...
I bought my boat in Virgina Beach from Browning Marine. It came from the factory like that and I bought it off of the showroom floor. When I was at several hang outs on the Chesapeake where others had thru hull we were all loud. When I was doing a lunch run over to Bay Creek resort in Cape...
That is about right for the sound. To me, that is a very normal lake sound. There are some lakes in Texas that the number of boats with thru hull exhaust out number anything else. Some are over transom headers on jet boats and V drives with real performance engines. Those are loud. I know people...
I really like the sound of my boat, but after a while I do run it closed. When I ran up the intercoastal in the middle of nowhere for 100 miles I ran it closed most of the time. You are right, most guys like the sound of a full roller small block with a little cam.
That is my point. The exhaust isnt the issue. The person is. A few speeding drivers out there does not mean that all should get tickets. Being labeled due to the exahaust I have on my boat is stupid. I am a responsible boat operator and just because I like the rumble of a V-8 on the water does...
Wow, so just because I have thru hull on my boat I am a dick now or act a certain way? You don’t even know who I am or how I am. I think that maybe you should not stereotype so much. Maybe that I would be correct in saying that people with large boats or are from the east coast and great lakes...
I have a Corsa Exhaust on my boat. It will be louder all right. At idle it really sounds good. On plane it is pretty loud in the boat, but about 50-75 foot away not that loud at all. You will get slightly better fuel economy and a little more top end with it open than closed. When it is closed...
My tower came on the boat from Sea Ray, but is an aftermarket tower. I am not sure the brand.
I would make sure that who ever you go with has installed a tower on your model boat before and will use backing plates where the tower mounts to the hull. Also, there should be a rubber gasket/washer...
The small block Chevy (or Ford) may have been designed for a automobile or truck, but that is where it stops. The blocks are essentially the same in dimension and materials, but that is about it. A marine engine lives at high RPM, never coasts and is always working. Plus, the operating temps are...
I have a 2007 with a bench along the back. Mine is right in the middle of the bench firing out into the cockpit. The only issues there is that you have to protect your wiring and either grill it well and keep it off of the floor so it doesnt get kicked or otherwise hit by too many things.
Lake Travis has had a low water level lately and that REALLY limits cruising as I am sure you know. I have not been on Travis for several years now due to that. I go to Canyon and LBJ and of course the coast and will keep waiting for Travis to fill...
I say snug it up. Also it is a good idea to use different tabs on the lock washer or get a new one every once in a while. The metal will fatigue after bending over and over. I keep a set on the boat as a spare.
I have alwasys wanted to cruise my boat even though it is a 21 footer. My father in law was cruising with a friend on his 38 foot sail boat from Port Isabel Texas. I went to pick him up in Freeport and then bring him back to San Antonio. I trailered from San Antonio Texas to Charlie’s Fish Camp...
