Dropped the boat in the water and noticed a slight vibration, not a skip, at 1300 RPMs while underway. Got to the dock and one at a time put each motor in neutral and increased RPMs to 1300 and the vibration (felt through the floor) only existed from the port motor. Only changes in the spring...
I had the original Corsa Exhaust that came from the factory. Last season a mechanic recommended that I remove them because of possible water intrusion into the cylinders. So, they were removed.
What should I do with them? Is there any value to them? I have 2 complete sets with wiring...
I have the boat at the dealer for the coupler, and asked them to look into the rpm issue I have been having (port won't go over 3500 rpms). They did a compression check and found one cylinder low. When the opened the head, they noticed water in that cylinder only. The enging itself is fine. He...
Got the bad news...the port coupler is shot. I brought the boat to Russo's because I wanted it done right. They pulled the drive and showed me, it was totally stripped. They are quoting me 2 days labor (+/- $1800) to remove the motor and another $500 or so for the coupler. The motors are...
The port engine reaches WOT at 3500 rpms and won't go over . This is the second season with this issue. This spring, while in the driveway, my mechanic noticed that the port outdrive was not going all of the down. He fixed the pistons and hoped the problem was solved. Since it didn't, he put...
I just sold my 16' Stingray and figured I'd look for a 13' used Whaler to kick around in. I am in shock at the prices people are asking for OLD...15,20,25,30 year old 13' Whalers! The fully restored with new(er) motors I understand need to get a price. But old junkers with junk motors, or no...
Every time I plug in the pigtail and use the 110V from the house through an extension cord, it discharges the starboard battery completely. The main panel was on and the gauge showed it was charging, and the battery switches were off.
This happened last year and I thought the battery was...
The hatch has a small leak in heavy rain. Last storm I went in and saw that it is the glass seal that is leaking. If I push up on the glass in one corner, a drop or two develops. How do I reseal the glass? Does the glass have to removed, or just caulk over what is there?
I saw this idea in another thread about whether or not a hot water heater is needed. We had our hot water heater replaced last year when the motors were out. It doesn't get used much, but I like the idea of having hot water through the transon shower.
What is the best way to get hot water...
I need to buy 2 starting batteries, and based on the battery threads it seems like AGM is the way to go. I know I'll have to change all three (2 starting and 1 house). We do not overnight, just use the radio and sometimes turn the fridge on while we are out for the day.
Is it OK to go from...
At the end of last season, my original Clarion amp (APA4203) fried. Any suggestions on buying a new amp?
I have 4 newer Alpine 6 1/2" speakers and a stock Clarion sub in the cockpit. There are 2 stock Clarion speakers in the cabin. If possible, I would like to be able to shut the cabin...
I did a complete tuneup - plugs, caps, rotors, and coils. Now both voltmeter gauges are not working. Where do the leads go to? I must have knocked them off. Thanks.
The boat was running fine. Last week I changed the oil, oil filters, and fuel filters. After the oil change, I started the port motor and it ran fine. Then I started the starboard motor and it stalled. I started it again and there was a squeal, but I was able to keep it running and the...
The boat gets up on plane well, but the port engine maxes out at 3500 rpms. I have to pull the starboard throttle down to match it and that is about 3/4 WOT. The top speed is only 40 compared to 50 last year.
Is there an adjustment that can/needs to be done?
While coming back from the Boston Aquapalooza, the starboard engine shut down whille on plane. I tried to restart the motor but got nothing when I turned the key. After checking the engine compartment, we noticed that the ignition shift breaker tripped. I reset it and it started right up. It...
My wife bought a few things at WM for me for Father's Day. They all need to go back. I was thinking of getting an inflatable life vest. After reading a few posts on the subject, it seems that the (cheaper) auto that WM sells might get wet and go off too easily. Is a manual a better choice?
I had some spare carpet from my carpet order from Snap-in, made the templates, had a local carpet co. do the cuts
($20), Tidal Wave Canvas did the bindings ($100), and bought some SNAD ($40) So, for about $160 I have some nice swim platform carpets that match the interior carpet and they can...
Both of the 12v outlets in the cabin stopped working. One is over the sink, the other is behind the tv. They were working at the beginning of the season. The cabin 110v outlets work, and the cockpit 12v outlet still works. I already checked the 12v breaker on the main breaker panel.
Is...
The original Lowrance 3500 stopped working. So, I bought a RM ST40. However, I do not have a spot on the dash that will fit the 5" display unless I mount it low (the panel below the ignitions). Too low?
It seems that Lowrance has a newer display that is round and will fit, but their site...
