I need help finding part ASAP

Thanks for all the help. I did find the part but ,Dennis at St. Marks Marina said they had already gotten to the point in the reassembly that it would be difficult and expensive to install. I hit a rock in the river a couple of months ago and ripped the lower unit off. It kicked left and hit...

    Just in Time!!!

I had posted the question on how to get to my bilge pump a couple of weeks ago and got lots of help. After looking at my options I thought the best way was to remove the rear seating support structure, and with the help of my neighbor I got it fixed. It was a royal PITA. It has been three years...

How do you get to bilge pump??

I am going to a local shop after I get off work. I have never used him but have driven by his shop a few times. He works out of a large carport and the grounds don't inspire much confidence. I know you can't judge a book by its cover. Where I have had my work done is about an hour away. Since I...

How do you get to bilge pump??

Dennis if you get tired of answering my elementary questions just tell me to shut up and figure it out. I am just trying not to screw it up. I had to remove the serp belt to get to the bilge pump so I already have pictures of that. What brand do you think is best to use orginal Merc, Sierra, or...

How do you get to bilge pump??

No it is on the trailer. Why do you remove the fuel lines? I was looking at it last night and it looked like there were two fuel lines that run under the two weater hoses. Do I need to remove water separator as well. Is it better to use box wrenches or sockets to take the bolts off? All very...

How do you get to bilge pump??

I don't think I would take 300 dollars to do it. It was a real pain in the a$$. I think I spoke the wrong language I am wanting to replace the impeller not the pump. I have been reading several threads and am a bit confused but hopefully I can figure it out when I am looking at it on the boat...

How do you get to bilge pump??

Finally got the bilge pump fixed yesterday. I can't believe that they would make it so hard to get to such an important safety feature, especially one that you know is going to have to be replaced at some point. I had to remove the entire rear seat and the support structure just to be able to...

How do you get to bilge pump??

Guys thanks for all the help. I was looking at it yesterday and it looks like I will be better off taking the seat out and going in through the deck. I just don't see how I can get my arms into such a small gap. With the big block there is only 4-5 inches of space between motor and hull. The...

How do you get to bilge pump??

I took the boat out this weekend and noticed that the light on the dash indicated that the bilge pump was running but nothing was coming out of the hose on the side of the boat. When I lifted the hatch I could see water circulating and hear the pump running. So I have two questions? 1. Is it...

Missing plastic piec on out drive.

Sorry not a very good description. It is located on the side of the outdrive towards the front. It is right behind the trim arm and is about 4 inches long. I can see a small hole in the outdrive but I can't see anything in it because the trim arm is in the way. I know I have used the boat at...

Missing plastic piec on out drive.

I just noticed that I am missing a small plastic piece that is located right behind the trim arm on the leading edge of the outdrive. 1. What is this piece and what is it for? 2. Will it hurt to run the motor with it off.

    Outdrive Noise

You may have your trim up to high for a tight turn. Try lowering your trim right before you start a tight fast turn.

    Why does this keep happening?

I had the same problem on my bass boat trailer. Lost two bearing buddies before I found the problem. The nut that holds the hub to the axle was to loose and they vibrated off.

How do I get to starter

As you can see in my signature I have a 1998 230 SS with a 7.4 EFI 454 with a BIII. My starter has gone bad and there is almost no room to reach it let alone get tools in to work on it. I was wondering if anyone with a similar problem had any ideas or tricks they have used before I start. Thanks...
